The city was evacuated when the lockdown began and I had to go back to my house. The transition from the city, where I had lived for three years, to the countryside, where I had always longed to escape away, was not easy. In Darjeeling, where I had lived for 17 years, I was happy to see my family, but there were a lot of things that didn’t feel right. So I decided to change things around a bit in my room because I was feeling a bit detached from the area. In the beginning, I had no idea what I was going to accomplish or how it would appear, but it all came together. This collection of ideas can help you decorate your space and make it seem more like “home” even if you’re on a restricted budget.

Images on Posters and Polaroid Film

For centuries, posters and polaroids have served as a means of communication. As I enter a room, I’m delighted to see posters of singers, actors, directors, and other cultural luminaries. I’ve always thought it was fascinating to delve into someone’s life and discover who they are. What you do is buy posters or photographs of the things that mean a lot to you and either hang or put them on your walls or cabinets.

Fairy Lights

Especially for college students living in hostels, fairy lights are a cliché. This isn’t only ornamental, it’s also a memory map for certain folks. However, let’s be a little more imaginative. Make a dreamcatcher or a bed stand out of the fairy light. Fairy lights may be used in a variety of creative ways.

House Plants

One of the finest ways to beautify your house is with houseplants. You don’t have to go all out and buy a beautiful plant from a nursery to make it special. Grab a few fruit plant seeds or a whole plant, then go online to sites like Shopify that offer these items, and buy yourself a pretty pot to put it in. As a result, you may keep it anywhere you choose, depending on its needs and your mood.

How to Build a Bookcase

Right here, we have a really nice technique. Not everything has to be IKEA. Simply use your imagination when it comes to repurposing the trash you’ve accumulated around the house or elsewhere. All you need are a few nails and a few pieces of wood. Then, using a rope, you may hang them on your wall. Use caution when it comes to the weight of the wood. Even if you’re not comfortable working with wood and nails, you can make shelves out of sturdy cardboard boxes.

Getting your room to seem nicer and feel more comfortable isn’t difficult. Make a plan if you want to renovate your home and yard, or simply your bedroom. Find inspiration online, set a budget, and get started!
